NASA TO ANNOUNCE NEW INDUSTRY AGREEMENTS FOR CCICAP

At 9am EDT, Friday August 3, NASA will be issuing a much-anticipated news release announcing new agreements with industry partners for its CCiCap initiative. This will be followed at 10am with a news briefing to be broadcast live on NASA Television and the NASA website, as well as a teleconference for media representatives at 10:45am.

CCiCap is a new initiative through which NASA is encouraging the private sector to develop for human spaceflight. A priority of the Obama administration, the objective of the program is to assist with the development of a safe, reliable and cost-effective way of accessing low Earth orbit and the International Space Station, both for government and commercial customers.

Industry rumors suggest that the competitors for the CCiCAP awards include SpaceX, Sierra Nevada, ATK and Space Tech Expo exhibitor, Boeing.

Return to the Space Tech Expo website later today to find out the results of the announcement.
