To get you excited and prepared for the show, we have put together a preview of some of the products that will be showcased at this year’s Space Tech Expo.
DEWESoft will be showcasing their SIRIUS Strain Gage DAQ Measurement Modules. SIRIUS data acquisition systems offer the best performance in signal conditioning and take no compromise on the acquired signals. SIRIUS simply brings the best signal conditioning you can buy today. SIRIUS DualCoreADC® technology boosts dual 24-bit delta-sigma AD converters with an anti-aliasing filter on each channel, achieving an astonishing 160 dB of dynamic range in the time and frequency domains. It offers 200 kS/s/ch simultaneous sampling rate per channel and up to 8 channels per SIRIUS slice. This is the flagship of the Dewesoft product line - a masterpiece of hardware and software.
The STG amplifier is also available in 16-channel slices or higher sample rate SAR amplifiers. They can be combined for high channel count applications as required.
Standard Measurements include Full, Half, and Quarter Bridge applications with selectable internal bridge completion resistors. Or Low Voltage with or without excitation. Adapters can easily be added for temperature, acceleration, or current measurements
Mynaric are very much looking forward to presenting their latest laser communications products at Space Tech Expo. The CONDOR Mk3 optical communications terminal is purpose built to address the growing need of high-performance, high-bandwidth, secure and reliable satellite communications for next-generation constellations. These versatile terminals enable intra-plane and cross-plane inter-satellite connectivity in various orbits and Space-Space, Space-Air or Space-Ground communication.

The terminal is an evolution of the successful CONDOR Mk1 and SDA Tranche 0 compliant Mk2 terminals. This terminal presents a much smaller footprint, lower mass, and lower power consumption. Using best-in-class design concepts to optimize for LEO constellations, CONDOR Mk3 provides customers with significant SWAP advantages.
KP Labs will be presenting their Smart Mission Ecosystem. For the mission integrators and operators who need to build advanced spacecrafts, Smart Mission Ecosystem brings together hardware, software, and AI-powered algorithms to complete your mission. Unlike fragmented and unintegratable solutions, the Ecosystem was designed with the holistic approach to enable on-board data processing on the payload and satellite level, as well as to make the mission more fault-tolerant and safer.
KP Labs support the complete lifecycle of their partners’ advanced missions from the analysis and design, through faster satellite integration thanks to the built-in algorithm, software and hardware-in-the-loop tests (Oryx OBCS and Oasis EGSE) to the increased reliability of operations in space (Antelope OBC) and the on-board data processing supported by the artificial intelligence (Leopard DPU, Lion DPU and the Herd).
Experior Laboratories recently expanded its dynamic testing capability with another new vibration system.
Paired with a new Unholtz Dickie, UD T4000 shaker is a custom 72”x72” high-performance precision slip table design by TEAM Corporation. Compared to a traditional slip plate resting on an oil film over a granite surface, the TEAM table has a slip plate supported by a continuous five by five grid of TEAM film hydrostatic bearings.
The T-Film bearings have several benefits over standard oil film and linear bearings. The unique inverted T shape of TEAM bearings provides improved stiffness, load transfer and improved moment transfer to the reaction base. This minimizes slip plate deflection and cross-axis vibration, as well as allows for test articles with a much higher overturning moment. Additionally, hydrostatic bearings have significantly increased load capability, meaning the table can accommodate much heavier test articles.

A highlight of the pavilions that will be present at Space Tech Expo 2022!
The Italian Trade Agency is an Italian governmental entity and economic liaison responsible for promoting business development and trade between the United States and Italy. The Houston office is tasked with promoting Italian aerospace nationwide and is always actively scouting the sector’s terrain to build strong partnerships with industry leaders and innovators.
At Space Tech Expo 2022 ITA Houston will organize an Italian Pavilion showcasing 10 leading companies eager to form new business relationships in the West Coast Ecosystem for the very first time. The show will also be the third stop of the U.S. promotional campaign of “There is a Lot of Space in Italy”, which aims to highlight Italy’s continuous contributions to the global aerospace landscape. This campaign features a landing page with breaking news in Italian aerospace, along with easy access to ASI’s full catalog of 200+ active players in Italy’s aerospace sector.
Electro-Hydraulic Actuators and Controllers for Aerospace Testing
Electro-hydraulic actuators have become a leading technology compared to their pure hydraulic and pneumatic counterparts due to their many advantages. Electro-hydraulic actuation offers a higher degree of precision in movement with their electronic sensors and allows for easier adjustment as controllers can remotely operate the unit. They are more compact as they require fewer components, making it power-dense and ideal for aerospace applications with low load requirements. Its self-contained design mitigates safety hazards and does not require regular servicing. These benefits come with the same performance, handling loads, and shock tolerances as traditional hydraulic technology.
SPACETECH LIVE TRAINING: Come by Zemarc’s Fluid Power Pavilion (Booth 2001) for an overview of the components and controls for advanced hydraulic motion control used in precision testing and simulation applications. The training includes information on the sizing and selection of electro-proportional valves, actuators, linear position sensors, force controls, and closed loop motion controllers.
Custom Hydraulic Power Units
Hydraulic power units, known as HPUs, are one of the most essential parts of a hydraulic system. Without them, the system would have no power and not be able to function. Each HPU has a pump, a reservoir, a motor/engine to drive the pump, and an assortment of accessories. These elements provide and control the flow, which in turns generates pressure for the system. Zemarc Engineering can help with design, component selection, and build of your custom HPU.
Skydrol Test Stands
Zemarc Engineering designs and assembles hydraulic test stands to your specifications. Skydrol Test Stands can be designed for testing reworked aerospace components like Aerospace Manifolds. These custom test stands can include options like closed loop control between 5-40 GPM and 50-5000 psi at 1% accuracy, fully integrated hydraulic power unit with cooling system and sump, and PLC control with touch screen interface (for selecting system pressure, back pressure, and flow).
The abort manifold combines proportional control with an emergency abort system. In the event of system failure, power loss, or external command, the manifold instantly depressurizes the hydraulic circuit and initiates actuator bleed-down. When implemented in aircraft fatigue testing applications, the abort sequence reduces or prevents damage to valuable test articles, hydraulic components, and testing equipment. Zemarc Corporation’s Abort Manifold features Parker’s zero-lap proportional valves for exceptional response, accuracy, and consistent repeatability. Sensing ports facilitate monitoring of all lines within the manifold, and flat face quick couplings allow zero-drip disconnect. Remote or actuator mounting and adjustable bleed-down provides versatility for system installation.
Motion Controllers by Delta Computer Systems
Delta’s RMC Motion Controllers handle systems with up to 50 axes. With built-in Ethernet and many supported industrial communications protocols, connectivity to nearly any PLC or HMI is possible. RMC Motion Controllers are highly configurable to meet the needs of virtually any system or application with a variety of I/O modules that support a broad range of transducers and actuators. RMCs are designed to optimize challenging applications with an analog resolution up to 18 bits for both inputs and outputs, and control loop times down to 125 μsec. The RMC200 Standard is for large applications with up to 50 axes of motion, and the RMC200 Lite handles up to 18 axes. The RMC150 supports up to 8 axes, and the RMC75 handles systems with 1 to 2 axes. Delta’s motion controllers have been used in a wide variety of aerospace applications, including rocket test-firing control, testing of radar equipment, wing manufacturing, helicopter blade testing, and more. Parker Hannifin Hose Crimping and Assemblies: Step-by-Step Training with a Hose Crimper
Live demonstration of the hose crimping process. Overview of the benefits of Parker Hose Crimpers for use with Hydraulic Hose and Gas Hose Assemblies rated to 6,000psi. Attendees will be able to learn the features of the crimper, learn of the benefits of assembling hose assemblies in house, and crimp their own hose assembly.
Customizing High Pressure Gas Systems for Aerospace Testing & Launch
This presentation examines the components commonly used in high pressure inert gas systems typically seen in Testing and Launch Operations. We will review high pressure gas boosters, gas bottles, valves, tubing, hoses, and process control products. Special focus will be on Medium Pressure Cone and Thread Connections and High Pressure Cryogenic Valves.
