High-pressure cold spray technology has developed from a classic metal coating technology for high performance coatings, to a competitive additive manufacturing (AM) process for large rotational symmetric parts, especially for space propulsion applications. Cold spray stands out compared to other AM technologies with basically no size limitations, high deposition rates, and high deposition efficiencies. Cold spray can reduce the manufacturing time from months to weeks, compared to conventional manufacturing methods, like electroplating. Bimetallic or even multi material stacking is uncomplicated while using cold spray equipment, even while working with dissimilar materials.

Vibration Research
Booth - 2031
Showcasing - IDOF
Aerospace laboratories often test high-value equipment at extremely high random vibration levels for a brief period. Their goal is a realistic test that will identify reliability issues but will not damage the equipment. Ideally, the engineers want to see a smooth control trace on the power spectral density (PSD) that stays within an established tolerance range. However, random vibration tests typically have tight tolerances (±1.5dB). Instant Degrees of Freedom (iDOF) is a statistically valid method of generating a smooth PSD during a short-duration random vibration test. iDOF uses Chi-squared statistics to deliver accurate, low-variance PSD estimates quicker than traditional averaging.
